FAQ

There’s nothing worse than not knowing what to expect before a visit.

That’s why we’ve put together some of our top FAQ’s to get you ready for your visit.

What to expect during your appointment
The first thing we do is talk. We create a calm and inviting environment to have a chat and hear all about your injury or pain.

After that we give you a thorough assessment and then sit down and discuss our findings. Our conversations are always two-way. We want your input to know that you’re happy and understand what we’re diagnosing and recommending.

Once we’ve agreed on the findings we’ll suggest a treatment plan including an exercise program to help get you moving again. We’ll download it to your phone so you can’t lose it!

Do I need to remove clothing for the assessment?

If you’re a concerned about what to wear/not wear we always recommend you ask before the appointment. It’s absolutely normal to wonder about what to wear and you’ll be surprised how many people want to know.  Your clothing always depends on the type of injury or pain we’re treating, so it’s worth checking in advance.

We may ask you to remove some clothing so we can assess you and see how your body moves. We sometimes ask you to go down to your underwear but we have shorts and towels on hand to protect your modesty (unless you’re happy to share your gorgeous body!).

What shall I wear?

We recommend wearing comfortable tracksuit pants and a t shirt that lets you move freely.

Formal workwear or clothes you’ve been working in all day can be uncomfortable to work with so recommend getting changed into something that will let you move freely. We have a room for you to change into something more comfortable.

If you’re coming from a muddy work site it’s a good idea to get changed before coming in, otherwise we’ll be after you with the vacuum cleaner!

What if I can’t get to your clinic?

That’s OK, we offer Telehealth sessions for patients who are FIFO, sessions at a local gym or hydrotherapy sessions in a local pool. Call the team on 0497 111 127 for more information or use our contact form to get in touch.

What are your fees?

Our fees depend on the session, group or class you’re attending. They also vary depending on which Practitioner you’re seeing. The best way to find out is to call us on 0497 111 127 or drop us an email on the contact form and we’ll get right back to you.

Do you offer Clinical Pilates?

We sure do. We have a trapeze table, reformers and all sorts of fun rehabilitation equipment to get moving on. While we incorporate clinical Pilates into our rehabilitation programs, we do not offer purely clinical pilates classes as we like to jazz things up with what you need.
We do not offer generic classes as you don’t have a generic body, you have a fabulously unique one with unique aim and goals. So we devise a unique one for you.

Do you offer home visits?

Yes we can offer home visits. The pricing depends on where you live. Give the team a call on 0497 111 127 and we’ll help arrange it for you.

Do I need a referral for an appointment?

No. You can self-refer, meaning you can just call or book online to make an appointment to see us. It’s always a great idea to bring any further information you do have with you though (like scan results & selfies like X-Rays and MRIs).

If you are coming to see us as part of your Team Care Arrangement (TCA), your GP will send you with a referral for us, so don’t forget to bring this with you on the day.

What shall I bring with me to an appointment?

Just bring your lovely self & anything you feel we might need like scan results and letters if you have been to see a specialist. Sometimes it’s handy to bring your X-Ray selfies so that we can see what’s been happening if you’ve had a fracture.

Can I still see my other practitioners?

Of course. We love collaborating and we do a lot of this with local & city based practitioners (chiropractors, osteopaths and myotherapists) and specialists. We want you to have a great team on your side to help you achieve our goals and that mean everyone singing from the same song sheet.

Just let us know who you already have on your team so we can keep them in the loop.

I’m pregnant and can’t lie on my front, can you still treat me?

Being pregnant brings so many other things for you to think about. And we have a pillow for this one. We can get you comfortable in either side lying with a big long pillow or in sitting propped up with the bed in front of you.

We see lots of pregnant women so this is not a problem at all. We’ll always put yours and bumps comfort first.

Can I use my Private Health Insurance?
You sure can. You can even claim on the day via Hicaps.
How long are the appointments?

Appointment slots vary depending on the type of appointment you require. Initial & extended assessments are 45 minutes and standard follow up appointments are 30 minutes. If you require a long initial assessment for a complex condition please call the team for more information on 0497 111 127.

How can I pay?
Payment is by card only and payment is required in full on the day.

There is a gap fee for those using the Team Care Arrangements (TCAs). Payment is made in full and the medicare rebate is paid directly back into your designated bank account.

What if I have a flare-up of pain, should I still come?

Yes. This is the ideal time to come and see us when you have a chronic condition or persistent pain. Not only do we see what your ‘bad’ days are like, but you also get to learn more about what you can do on these day. We can teach you how to regress your program so you can still gently move your body to its own groove.

Do you see patients under TAC, WorkCover or DVA?
We do not see patients under these services but you can still come to see us a private patient. But please note that we do not provide any paperwork associated to the above services as a privately funding patient.
What type of appointment should I book?
If you are a new patient or have suffered a new injury, you should book in for an initial appointment. If we have seen you in the last couple of months and you are coming for the same issue, you can book a standard appointment. However, if it’s been longer than 3months then please book an extended appointment slot so we have time for a catch up and to make a plan for you.
What’s your cancellation policy?

We know life gets busy and we try to make accommodations, but just ask that you give 24hours notice if you cannot make your appointment. No one likes paying a fee of $60 but our physiotherapists give the very best so we don’t think it’s too much to pay for their time.

Or just give us a call on 0497 111 127 and we’ll happily help you rearrange your appointment.
